GOALS SETTING / MEETING OBJECTIVES
The year 2009 ended on a high. I tackled the intangible and put focused on continual works towards driving football proper that proves so worthy; more so rewarding when goals setting were achieved :-
1. Embarked on the Center of Excellence football and was enticed with more football guidance, given a slot to train under the Football Association of Singapore under the watchful technical director and his panel of coaches.
2. Eliminated all the "Attention Seeking" teams with neither qualifications, but has bragged so much on themselves, it was time for a further good laugh when learning more from the relevant proper football authority.
3. Good education plays an important role into driving football proper. It is a process. A long process cultivated from young. Continue to encourage the youth to understand football proper through character building; on and off the pitch. Discard the nonsensical adults and keep the innocent kids free from the germs. What you will see in the kids will be a "clean and green" football environment. The youth will be rewarded with the passion that they long for. Germs breeds and spreads if not eradicated, thus becoming a disease. It can easily be noticed.
4. Working and learning with the right people is always a blessing. It will lead to good opportunities. Taking the COE U11 boys to Kuala Lumpur under the FAS / MOE football program was rewarding enough. You gathered chances to guide the boys and convinced yourself that kids are really innocent if you lead them through the right path. Football is such an educated sport, if it is properly guided.
5. Helping the kid achieving his first step to football dreams; study hard, mixing with the right people, enjoying his football and cultivating goods habits form the basic elements in getting him to the Singapore Sports School. A "winning attitude" approached without having the kid to go through stress, but enjoying his football with a level of confidence. It is a breeze.
6. Encouraging an under 12 kid to do well in football development, not picking players from everywhere, playing tournaments helps in the boy's enrichment program. The Manchester United Soccer School South East Asia Skills Test Finals was an exemplary.
7. Special thanks to Football Association of Malaysia and Malaysia Television 3 for believing in our approached that invited us and the selected U12 football boys up to Kuala Lumpur with our 4 certified officials for a filming cum football learning trip with the Malaysia U12 team. A real eye-opener, that has brought vast experienced to all that includes the parents.
There is so much more to learn. Let's celebrate the eventful 2009 and look forward to more good years to come. For the U12 boys, this is the beginning of a new chapter. Let's continue to learn right.

December 2008 - Updates
5th December - Promising the boys a futsal get together if they do well in their examinations, we met on this day and went to the Bukit Timah Turf City for our futsal. It was a welcoming day seeing most of the boys enjoying themselves. We too got ourselves involved when we could not held on to our itchy legs.
7th December - We went to the Macpherson football pitch on this morning and participated in a boys tournament in their respective age group. A day spent meeting up with some parents and friends chatting away while the boys enjoyed themselves in this mini football league tournament.
9th to 13th December - Lionel and some of his friends enrolled in the Manchester United Soccer School program. A dream came true for most of the parents and our boys, we witnessed and enjoyed the finest coaching conducted by the finest coaches from the Manchester Soccer School. Little publicity but huge turned-out, the boys from all over the world trained diligently and were richly rewarded with the personal focused from the UK coaches who were conducting their courses in their highly acquired UEFA standards. From the equipments to the training methodology and the techniques utilized, it was pointers after more pointers for parents and local coaches to learn. The boys were given their "test" after each course and were ranked according to their soccer skills, attitude, abilities at the closing. All the boys were given a limited edition of the Machester United Soccer School jersey and a certificate for their participation. Lionel did himself proud when he won the best player award in his age group. He won himself a testimonia from the International Head Coach of the Manchester United Soccer School and a special trip arrangements to Old Trafford for its residential program next year.
14th December - Saad invited us to the ISA Soccer Tournament held at the Bukit Timah Turf City. The rain did not hampened the participating teams made up of boys represented from the different cultures and expatriate groups.
28th December - We participated in this tournament jointly organized by Home United and a Malaysia Soccer School Academy. The boys enjoyed the last week of December with more soccer before school resumes.
Wishing all friends, coaches and parents a Happy and Blessed New Year. May all your wishes come true.
Warmest regards
Sabastian
November 2008 - Updates
09 November 2008 - Now that the examination fever is over, with all the boys doing well in their academic results for themselves, some of us parents, with the boys gathered at the Jalan Besar Stadium where we participated in a mini-football friendly involving teams represented from the schools and other clubs. The boys happily destressed themselves playing 5 to7 a-side football with their new friends in their respective age-groups, while the parents happily chatted away. It was also a nice gesture to meet up with some of the other parents in the football arena. Thanks Said for the invitation.
21 November 2008 - We gathered 20 boys / 20 parents at the Choa Chu Kang Stadium and took a coach to the Jalan Besar Stadium to witness the RHB Cup finals between the SAF Warriors and Woodlands Wellington. Most of us were dressed in our blues to render support to the SAF Warriors team which eventually won the game for the second consecutive year to retain the trophy after extra time with the score at 2 - 1. The boys were happily cheering and chatting away throughout the entire journey while it was a pleasant trip for some of us parents who have not met up since the Kids Warriors ended in September 2008. Congratulations Warriors !
23 November 2008 - We attended coach Said's invitation and met at the Woodlands "Dragon field" for a friendly match against the Woodlands Sunday Boys. The boys were divided into their respective age group and took turns to enjoy their football. It also brought back fond memories with some of the "youngstars" boys playing together with some of their new friends in a venue where they had won the Friendship Cup Tournament for 2 consecutive years in a row. With Said's passion in driving the boys to look forward to next year's Royal Selangor Cup Invitation in Kuala Lumpur, it argurs well for the boys to continue their well-being and at the same time cultivate football proper. There was a mini-birthday celebration for Salleh, who turned 57 this day. It was more of a reunion gathering for some of us parents too. Happy birthday Salleh !
30 November 2008 - Coach Said has integrated us to participate in this football tournament to be held at the Kembangang field. The boys certainly looked forward to have more football fun on this occasion after spending the past month getting together.
5 December 2008 - Futsal @ Turf City (0200 pm - 0600 pm)
Cheers !
