Update - CCK Sports Constituency / RAIN United joint soccer program

25th AUGUST 2007
The MP for Choa Chu Kang, Minister of Education and senior Minister of State, Mr Gan Kim Yong will be coming by to join us with our Kids soccer this Saturday / 25th August 2007 / 0830 am at the Teck Whye pitch.

It has been enlightening to hear from Mr Aw, that despite Mr Gan's busy schedules, he has expressed interests to render his support to our joint program, and has decided to take time to join us in our training. We certainly hope to have another round of kick-about with Mr Gan and his team this weekend.

In the meantime, we are also looking up to the RAIN United senior team members, whom may be able to come by to join us. Kindly put on the team MAROON jersey ( our boys are in RED ).

01st SEPTEMBER 2007
All the junior boys, who have been selected for the game against the friends from the Belgium community on 1st September 2007 / 0400 pm @ the Teck Whye Pitch are to report at 0200 pm in their RED attire / shin guards mandatory. The boys and their parents have been informed on their expectations and compliance.

We looked forward in giving the friends from the Belgium community (mainly team of boys from the ANZA League) a good match apart from enjoying the occasion with fun-filled football and the parents get together.

August 2007 Updates

CCK Sports Constituency / RAIN United Joint Kids Soccer Program -

The juniors have been training with us for the past couple of months and it has been a joy to be with them. Through our weekly Saturdays trainings, we have eradicated some issues and both Mr Aw and I made decisions to ensure proper football compliances.

The response and discipline from the kids have really kept us going. Lots of laughter, lots of fun, innocent questions, going through football proper and enjoying it. The group gets bigger each week. Thank you Max and Jia He for finding some time to come by too.

The boys pitted their "fun football" against respective age group each week, trained deligently and played in organised friendly games. A football friendly has been arranged for them to play against the friends from the Belgium community come 01st September 2007.

With the Muslim fasting month coming by and the examinations drawing near, we also hope the boys will do well in their studies for themselves and their parents. In the meantime, I will be sending out invitations to some of the expatriates community with the hope to obtain their interest to participate in our very first "Cross-Culture Mini 11- Aside Football League" which we are targetting November / December 2007.

Apart from playing fun football, both Mr Aw and I hope to inculcate the boys to learn from the many different cultures from the participation teams.

RAIN UNITED

Big thank you to everyone in the team who have contributed in their every bit to assist in getting the players and RAIN United together for their weekly league games.

BLESSING TO EMERGENCY CALLS

There was a drive for blood donations (B+ type) to donate to a one year old blood cancer strickened baby boy at the KK Hospital , Ward 77 recently.

I felt blessed to have team mates in Bernard and Jeremy, who were most willingly with their immediate responsed to stand up to answer to this call. Special thanks to this special friend of mine too who was most willing to care for the baby despite his owned low blood health.

FRIENDS

Congratulate to Professor Yu for his success in attaining his PHD. He is one friend of mine whom I have known both as a football mate and a friend, thanks to Dr Dongui and Cao Yuan. Getting to know Professor Yu, he is one person whom I felt comfortable thoroughly sitting down and enjoying my beers with. He has promised to play football again. So I will be giving him the "push".

Likewise, I met a warriors neighbourhood friend, whom I have known for his fishing interests and the games which we attend to support the SAF Warriors game regular together, has asked to join us to kick about together with his brother in law. I have told him that I will be happy to introduce him to Nelson and Mr Aw, where he deems himself too old to play the game. I have been trying to make him understand that football is not all about winning or losing.

Max has also expressed that an ex-Rain United friend wants to join us. Let's live and let live. Come on in and you are most welcome to join us. Do feel comfortable about it.

Guys, as we are nearing towards the end of the league tournament, I believed we have gained match experienced in the weekly match that we have played.

Apart from gaining friends and learning from our opponents, there are many pointers that we will work on and our football will continue.

Many thanks and cheers to all the team mates; the seniors, the youths, the young juniors, and Mr Aw who have been putting great support in getting us organised every week. We have not failed in our objectives. All of us have put away our own busy schedules to get together to play football and unite in a respectable manner.

I have decided to take the team to a break for any participations in any league temporarily but instead, will reinstate our trainings. It has also been enlightening to learn that there will be some friends, some old and some new friends, whom, has expressed the interest to join us. I will continue to organize friendly matches to go along with our trainings and if the team is ready for the next league, I will be please to ask the organisers to give us the opportunity.

From the beginning, I have targetted 18 points at the end of this league. Let's make the most from the rest of the games and enjoy it. I am also looking forward to see most of the team players present together either at any of the remainder games so that I can have the chance to do a video shootage that can involves all.

I hope to line the team together to shoot a full team page covering from our warm-ups to our match play, that may include some "pointers" so that we can have good fun at the end of the tournament. The video shootage will be transfered into DVD that will be distributed to all team members as a good gesture of remembrance from the AFL League that we have participated this year.

Looking forward to see all again hopefully soon.

Cheers
Sabastian
