[ Our Training Sessions ]

We gathered ourselves on 22nd October 2005 for our first training session. It was held in an open field near the Yew Tee Community Center. There were about 32 boys who turned up altogether. Issues on learning, training and playing football, but at the same time doing well in keeping up with their good disciplines, friendships, sportsmanships, dedications and commitments - ON and OFF the field while enjoying themselves were top of my agenda to keep the team going.

It was never easy to start off with but the "standards" became a routine. We conducted our weekly training sessions. It was soon made possible with the team's integrated effort to justify themselves with "SEGAMAT" - the importance of sharing teamwork and doing the right things together. I grew attached to the team though admittedly, I was never an easy coach - No compromising on poor attitude, no priority treatments. Discipline has always been my priority.

The boys were blended with awareness on "S.H.E." - not the Taiwanese popular girls pop group singers but awareness on " SAFETY, HEALTH and ENVIRONMENTAL".

The boys were cultivated to put on proper shin guards, football boots, clean socks, tidied hair, no ear studs, clean football play, and were guided to look after their clean and healthy lifestyles - no smoking, body "cartoons" etc. There was emphasis to look after their fitness and healthy living to enjoy football.

Their "on and off" the field behaviors were soon rewarded. Rain United Football Club were invited for trials with the SAF Warriors, played friendly matches, and we eventually shifted our training ground to a "private property" football field, OUR HOME GROUND through justifying the community and owners with their good discipline through our approached. The team players also formed their own team jerseys in February 2006.

Our training sessions were not all about football. We joke, tease and laugh at our mistakes all for the sake of good clean fun. We create constructive critism through our football play, the players "fight" healthily for their football slots, train diligently and go places as a team. We sing and greet our monthly birthday boys together, we go "Queensway" to buy sports goods together, organize overnight cycling trips, invitation to homes for EPL matches, parties, X-Box games, internet chatting, swimming, attending S-League football matches........... these are some of the things that is happening outside their football lives. On a naughty note, we created "rumors" on "BGR" with our own "GALACTICOS" linking to the Siti's, Jasmine's, Selina's, Melissa's, and currently, we are still "investigating" Randy's linking to his latest beau. However, Randy claims himself as a shy and quiet boy.

The team has also been rewarded with invitations to appear with photo-shooting with the CCK community to promote healthy lifestyle through football, 3 on 3 futsal tournament on 2nd April 2006 jointly organized by NIKE retail outlets B.I.R.D. and Weston Corporation Queensway. We have also been invited to put up 2 teams to participate as guests teams in a 7-a-side tournament come June holidays.

KEEP IT UP GUYS, YOU TRULY DESERVED IT ............. !
