[ Advice for bloggers ]
Quote from Strait Times, 14 June 2006
..... In its statement yesterday, the police also advised the public 'that it is a serious offence for any person to distribute or reproduce any seditious publication which may cause feelings of ill-will and hostility between different races or classes of the population of Singapore'. Offenders can be jailed up to three years or fined a maximum of $5,000 or both.
Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong has also said that the Government will act against anyone who makes remarks that threaten Singapore's racial and religious harmony, whether done online or offline. Race, language and religion remain sensitive issues here, and a younger generation must grow up learning the 'eternal truths' about Singapore, he had said last year when three young Singaporeans were charged under the Sedition Act.
The three youths were subsequently convicted for making inflammatory racist remaks about Muslims and Malays online.
The first offender was jailed a month while the second was jailed a day and fined $5,000. The third, a 17-year-old, was put on probation for two years and ordered to do 180 hours of community work for Malay welfare organisations.......

[FOOTBALL MATTERS]
Having been encouraged by the communities, I will be putting up a team for the 7 s' this Sunday. From point of views, though I may not be able to put up a second team, a new trial will be held the following Saturday and consecutively, for those who may be interested to come by. I certainly wish to extend to all those who believe in cultivating good attitude in wanting to play healthy community football.
With the training sessions and blending of players, the represented companies who has been patience to allow me to postpone the 11 aside tournament has also agreed to spare us time for friendly sparring matches. The team will be re-brand and the RAIN UNITED blog will capture soft copies of previous postings, documented proof of chronological and recorded events with my company's software systems, in case of any further violations from uninvited or unrepent offenders, which will justify my intention to take them to further liberal action.
The new team and the blog would be a joint collaboration between the Choa Chu Kang CSC and the team members to drive healthy sports lifestyles, with regular events to be updated on the blog for family events, social events, football matters, outings, excursions and the likes.

[OUR TRAINING THIS WEEK]
Despite the commemoration of the World Cup, the turn-out for our weekly session was a breeze. Though some of our players might have probably overslept after staying up for the "live" telecast, others have made good effort to come by.
The 7 aside tournament next week will commenced on 18th June 2006 / 0800am and training on the 17th June 2006 will be cancelled so that we can have more rest. Players are encouraged to drink more water to avoid suffering from cramps or dehydration. Rain United, which has submitted 2 teams for the tournament has fortunately been group seperately. Team players with the captains are to look for Mr Aw at 0800am next Sunday. Please ensure to put on your shin guards and do not wear any jewellery during play.
The game which will be played over 6 minutes each half and a winner will be decided eventually. In the event of a draw game after the full 12 minutes, the game would go into 3 minutes of sudden death with penalty kicks to be decided if it still ends in a draw. With each group comprising 5 teams, there will be a round robin to decide the top 2 teams in each group, which will proceed to the semi finals.
Players were also adviced not to be lead into getting themselves into any form of troubles. This is taken into considerations that we have Rain United members who are either on foreign student visa, permanent residence, work permit holders or have enlisted themselves with a career in the military. The team also warmly welcomed back Cai Quan, who has shown improvement on his well-being over the last couple of weeks.
After the 7 aside tournament, we will work ourselves to be prepared for the "Rain United Challenged Trophy 2006" which will be held after the World Cup finals. The players from the represented teams, will come together to form "Rain United 2". With this, we hope that there will be continuity to drive fun and healthy football. Apart from Jason and for safety reasons, whom I have seriously put considerabale thoughts to draft him into the 11 aside friendly cup challenged tournament, he has remained a good Rain United member.
[ RAIN UNITED FOOTBALL CHALLENGED TROPHY 2006 ]
The Rain United Football Challenged Trophy will commence in July 2006 with finalising of the 4 participating team fixtures and logistics issues to be release soon.
Rain United will be submitting 16 players for the tournament. The matches are schedule to be played on every Saturdays with all participating teams involved during the round robin. The top 2 teams after the round robin will vie for the champion trophy. FAS referees will officiate the matches. Each win will carry 3 points, 1 point for a draw and 0 for loss.
During the course of these matches, captains from represented teams will be brief on football regulations and fair play. The matches will be played over 35 minutes each half and 10 minutes break in between. There will be no limit to multiple substitutions.
At the end of the tournament, Rain United will be inviting interested players from represented teams to train and play regular football with us on Saturday evenings. The sessions will be conducted by appointed FAS certified coaches. Depending on progress and interest, Rain United hope to form up "Rain United 2" to plan for NFL tournaments in 2007. Existing players from Rain United's current squad who continues to train hard with maintainence of good discipline will either be drafted to play in other tournaments or the NFL as well. The plans will be discussed and presented to company owners' after the Rain United Challenged Trophy tournament.
[ Final Line-Up For 7-A-Side Tournament ]
We are 2 weeks away from the tournament and the dateline for the team sheets will be submitted to the organiser this morning. Though we are going into this tournament as our first, my objective focus on the players' to gain match experience, learn and to understand the level of play when participating in the open category.
The selections were finalized based on teamwork and discipline. It was not all about winning or losing, but the friendship and respect one has for the team. Communication with respect towards team members were another factor. While Shaun will be away on holidays, his inclusion in the team was never a doubt. Shaun has been truthful about his participation. Family bonding must come first.
Jason, on the other hand is another good example. It was unfortunate that I have to abide to safety reasons for not being able to field him. I have told Jason that how I wish I could go against my conscience but I have to abide to his family decision. I have spoken to the organiser and Jason will be slotted into the squad if there is any last minute change to his family's decision. Both the organiser and myself respected Jason for his truthfulness on this matter.
Cai Quan has shown perseverence. He will be included in the squad if he continues to train hard and work on his fitness. As the tournament allows only 10 registered players, those that has been included but do not put in consistency towards maintaining their good effort would be dropped. Any disciplinary issues warranting any disrespectful to members and tarnishing the image of the team would be sacked. Any last minute dropped out by individual will also be entertain.
