[ Forthcoming Football Plans - FEBRUARY 2007 ]

Chris contacted me the night after the game against the OBA and had complimented us on our improvement. He had admitted that they had underestimated us and thought the OBA team would have easily walked over us. The OBA team has requested for a re-match with us to be schedule in March as part of their preparations for their annual "Otega Cup" with the Rafflesians' Old Boys' where they are training even harder. Let us continue with our hard work and give them another good game when we meet.

While preparing ourselves for the "crunch" match against the Lasallians Old Boys', I am planning 2 friendlies, with one against the Public Utilities Board, probably after the Chinese New Year and another with the veterans team from the Football Association of Singapore. The dates for the 2 matches will be finalize as soon as the opponents have mentioned that yhey would prefer to utilize their field, time and date for the friendlies.

There will be no training on 17th February 2007 being the eve of the Lunar Chinese New Year. Let us spend the Chinese New Year's Eve for the reunion dinner and I wishes everyone a prosperous and healthy 2007. However, I certainly hope to continue where we have started off to keep ourselves going. Applauding those who have done well for themselves, I would field the best for the 2 matches. I am confident we can do well against the team from PUB where we lost 2-1 the last time we met and the match against the FAS Veterans will be another interesting one. The OBA team had lost by 1-0 the last time they met.

Over to the juniors, we will be lining up a team of boys from 7-12 years of age to train them regularly on Saturday mornings. We hope to cultivate football interest in these boys to learn and play football the proper way with plenty of football focus and discipline the right way. The programme was injected by Mr Aw Boon Leong and will be managed by him with the parents playing supporting roles to form the committees. The boys would go on to represent the Choa Chu Kang Community Centres for tournaments. All Rain United players are welcome to volunteer in the programme.

Finally, with a decision which has yet to be decided if Rain United would take part in a 7 a-side football tournament which will be held on the second week of March over Saturday and Sunday, organised by the CCK CC, Rain United veterans / parents will play an exhibition match against their kids from Youngstarz. We hope to take this special opportunity to garner stronger ties with our children through this bonding football. The match will probably be played before or during the official kick-off of the tournament. It will be probably be a 7 adults vs 11 kids game.

Thank you and kind regards
Sabastian
