March 2008 - Update
Kowloon Club Multi-Cultural Soccer Tournament
Dear Friends,
Well wishes and greetings !
Most of us have made the effort in committing to participate in the Kowloon Multi-Cultural Soccer Tournament, and though short of having enough numbers to make up with a decent squad, with only 14 players till date, I believed that the joint effort in putting this together warrant us the opportunity to participate in this tournament.
Hence, I would wish to confirm RAIN UNITED participations in this tournament. While the match fixtures are not out yet, the organizer has slated us to play our first game on 6th April 2008 with the second game on 13th April which will be played at 11 am. Nelson will also sing us a song for the change of time slot for the 13th April game. A good month for us to play football as it also coincide with some birthdays.
The match fixtures and venues will be send to all when it is ready.
During the course of this tournament, I would also like to seek the co-operation from those who may not be able to play in particular game to try and notify us in advance so that we can look for alternatives.
I strongly encouraged all to turn up at least 45 minutes earlier for match warm-ups to mitigate injuries. It has also been encouraging that there are communications over emails this time round with integrated effort to assist, so let us continue with our good effort in making this tournament a success.
We will be wearing the white jersey with options on the maroon for all our match games, in case it clashes with the opposition team colors. Shin guards is mandatory. Also, please ensure to bring enough drinking water and ensure that we have at least 3 fully pumped balls with us each time we take to the game.
Both Nelson and I will need to collect S$50.00 from each either in the first match, if I am unable to get a friendly match before the tournament begins. Believed all of us are short of match fitness but if those who can turned up at the Teck Whye pitch on Saturdays / 5 to 7 pm with our trainings, please feel comfortable to come by.
In the meantime, if there is anyone who may wish to air their views, please feel comfortable to do so. It can be constructive criticism for the team for healthy discussions.
